Introduction to QLab for Sound Design

Where: Online via Zoom

When: Monday April 15, 6:30-8:30 PM BST (British Summer Time)

Cost: £12 Concessions / £15 Standard

Concessions are available for artists who are students, disabled, aged 60+, or members of a union.

Five free spots in each workshop are available to deaf, disabled, neurodiverse, Black, and Global Majority artists on a first-come, first-serve basis.

About the Workshop:

Come and explore how QLab has transformed the world of sound design and technical theatre.

In this hands-on workshop, we will explore everything from how to start and stop cues to best industry practices and how to make your show even more streamlined and slick.

Explore how to programme cues on hot keys, bring sounds from multiple sources and work with live mics. Ask questions and get familiar with this incredible software in a relaxed environment.

By the end of this workshop, participants will feel comfortable creating a basic sound design using QLab.

About Will Alder:

Will enjoys a busy portfolio career in the wonderful world of Theatre. He’s designed interactive experiences into air raid shelters, disused railway tunnels, museums, markets, galleries and hotels. He’s worked in some of the UK’s biggest and smallest venues, and toured extensively both nationally and internationally. In 2020 he converted a theatre into a live streaming studio, working with broadcast cameras and streaming to thousands of people worldwide.
